Norrsken Office is located in a repurposed industrial shell, Wolfblanc’s design intervenes to balance the raw intensity of the existing brutalist structure with the warmth required for long-term productivity.

The core design challenge was to bridge the gap between “deep focus” and “radical collaboration.” To achieve this, the floorplate is organized around a central “Amber Core”—a system of translucent glass partitions and acoustic zoning that mimics the warm glow of the northern lights (Norrsken). This color palette is not merely aesthetic; it serves as intuitive wayfinding, signaling social hubs and high-energy zones against the neutral, quiet backdrop of concrete and grey felt.

Key features include:

  • Acoustic Geography: The transition from the open “Agora” seating to the secluded focus pods is managed through heavy acoustic drapery and sound-absorbing ceiling baffles.
  • Material Honesty: The design celebrates the building’s skeleton, leaving ductwork exposed but painted in the brand’s signature amber, visually weaving the mechanical systems into the interior architecture.
  • The “Fika” Anchor: A central social kitchen acts as the communal heart, grounding the high-tech environment with natural oak textures and biophilic elements to support the Scandinavian culture of connection.

Beyond the physical space, the project integrates the company’s visual identity directly into the built environment, creating a workspace that feels purposeful, welcoming, and relentlessly optimistic. Norrsken Office demonstrates how adaptive reuse can yield a headquarters that is as acoustically performant as it is visually striking.
