Opalen in Täby Park, developed on the former horse racetrack near Täby Centrum, is one of Sweden’s largest urban development projects. The Opalen rental housing block emphasizes architectural diversity with mixed facade materials such as brick, plaster, and detailed finishes in harmonised tones. It offers 142 rental units catering to different life stages, including 11 LSS apartments for residents with special support needs.

Located along the main boulevard of Täby Park, Opalen presents a robust frontage with active ground floors for cafés and businesses, while the quieter courtyard-facing sides feature lower building heights and thoughtfully crafted porticos. The design integrates the varying character of its four surrounding streets, with a unified ground-floor design that ties the block together. Special attention has been given to detailing to create inviting urban spaces and a comfortable living environment. The block also promotes community interaction with a central courtyard, a rooftop terrace, and green mobility options, including shared electric vehicles and bike facilities.
